Restaurant
From a culinary point of view, the Peterbauer Almstub is no longer an insider tip. In addition to our regular guests, many locals also appreciate the freshly prepared delicacies. When it comes to food, we rely on regional quality, in-house production and real cooking craftsmanship without convenience products and you can surely taste it.
Our specialties from our own organic farm are juicy T-bone steaks, rib eye steaks and fillet steaks from highland beef as well as apple cider, apple juice and milk from our own production. All pastries are prepared fresh every day at the Peterbaueralm!

Peterbaueralm at Speiereck is located at 1910m above sea level next to Sonnenbahn and offers a fantastic panoramic view over the mountains of Salzburg, Carinthia and Styria. Enjoy the fresh alpine air on our 500m² sun terrace and have a really good time.
At the foot of the Speiereck at 1,320 m above sea level is our organic farm – the Peterbauergut am Martiniberg.
We have been managing our property for more than 300 years, growing grain and potatoes and keeping our livestock on the mountain pasture all summer long.
Our Alm has been run as a family business for 40 years.
Farm-own organic products
Our livestock can be seen every day while skiing in winter – our farm’s winter run is located next to the valley run to St. Michael. In summer, our highland cattle also enjoy the idyll on the alpine pasture and can be observed in the immediate vicinity of our alpine hut.
Rustic restaurant & Parlour
An ideal private venue for corporate events and birthdays offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, accommodating up to 100 guests. Nestled in the picturesque mountains, it provides a cozy yet spacious setting, perfect for both professional gatherings and lively celebrations.
For more intimate celebrations with small groups of up to 35 people, our parlour offers a sophisticated atmosphere, perfect for personal gatherings such as anniversaries, family reunions, or close-knit birthday parties.
Farm shop
In our farm store you can buy our home-made sausages, smoked bacon, air-dried meat in the Grisons style, cheese, jams as well as mixed packages and gift baskets. The game meat comes from our own hunting grounds, the beef comes from our own highland cattle.
Highland cattle
Our highland cattle are extremely good-natured animals thanks to their many years of breeding. Highland cattle originally come from Scotland. It has been bred in Austria since 1985 and kept outdoors all year round in a natural and species-appropriate manner. Living in herds and on alpine pastures enables our highland cattle to live out their instincts and lead an animal-friendly life.
100% authentic
Our Alm has been renovated and converted so that it is barrier-free. We have 330 seats and 50 bar seats indoors as well as 500 seats on the spacious outdoor sun terrace.
We treat our little guests with special offers, such as our playground with swings, slides, go-karts and ladder carts. In winter there are separate rooms available for the children of the St. Michael ski school.
In addition to cash payments, we accept all major credit cards.
