Alpine summer

Peterbaueralm at Speiereck is located at 1910m above sea level right next to the Sonnenbahn, where you can expect an excellent panoramic view of St. Micheal. Enjoy the fresh alpine air and have a great time on our 500m² sun terrace.

We are also easily accessible via the 8-seater gondola for:

  • Families with strollers
  • Wheelchair users
  • People with limited walking ability

Hiking trail from St. Michael (approx. 2.5 hours)
The starting point is the Tourist Info Center. Past the pharmacy (narrow alley) you come to Leitnergasse. A little steeply uphill you reach an empty farmhouse “Leitnerbauer” and then to the old “Granglergut”. There you will meet Mühlsteigweg No. 92. The path runs uphill to the lower “Piendl-Alm” (ruin) at 1,322 m above sea level (approx. 0.5 hours). To the left, between the ruins and a fountain, climb over the fence and hike up the well-marked path to the Peterbauer Almstub’n.

Hike on the new Sonnehangweg from the Mauterndorf mountain station (approx. 1 hour)
The 3km long hiking trail from the “Grosseckbahn” mountain station (from Mauterndorf) to the Peterbaueralm or vice versa is an experience for everyone. The path has a maximum gradient of 5% and is also suitable for wheelchair users and strollers.

Hike over the Speiereck summit at 2,411m (approx. 3.5 hours)
The starting point is the “Grosseckbahn” mountain station in Mauterndorf: This scenic hike takes hiking trail no. 745 towards Grosseck, then continues along a slightly ascending high-altitude hiking trail to the Speiereck summit at 2,411m. Then take the hiking trail east to the Peterbauer Alm.

Choose from the hiking options on the Großeck-Speiereck adventure mountain. At the adventure mountain you have the opportunity to take easy walks or challenging hikes.

Please always remember that you should wear the right shoes on the mountain! Hiking poles protect your knees. You should also carry wind and weather protection with you in a backpack!

This makes exercise in nature even more fun! Take a break at the managed alpine huts and at the mountain restaurants.

Peterbaueralm

Our Alm has been renovated and converted so that it is barrier-free. We have 330 seats and 50 bar seats indoors as well as 500 seats on the spacious outdoor sun terrace.

We score points with our little guests with special offers, such as our playground with swings, slides, go-karts and ladder carts. In winter there are separate rooms available for the children of the St. Michael ski school.
